“Why should we hire you?”
If you were asked this question in a job interview, how would you answer? Would you say…
            “You should hire me because I am a hard worker”?
            Or “You should hire me because I am passionate about ABC company”?

If you think about something like these lines, you’re doing it wrong.
Let me explain how you should answer this question.

“Why should we hire you?” is one of the very important question in job interview because how you answer to this question can put yourself ahead of competitors and convince hiring managers that you’re the best candidate possible. This is the opportunity for you to show how you match up to the position and sell yourself. One of the important thing to remember when answering this question is NOT to tell cliché, like 2 example above. You need to demonstrate that specific skill that get you the job. Before constructing your answer, go back to the job description and read it a several times. Then pick 3+ key responsibilities or qualifications for the position and think about if you have either experience or training in the area.

After identifying the key responsibilities and qualifications, use tea table and think about how your background match up with them.  Use specific examples to tell your stories, and show hiring manager you are the right fit, not only for the position but also to the company.
